Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
By Better Health Research Team • Oct 28th, 2009 • Category: Fast FactFor those of you with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), it can be important to monitor what you eat. Foods that are low in fat and high in fiber can help ease your symptoms. Try to include whole grains, fruits, vegetables and lean meats to ward off heartburn, regurgitation, coughing or sore throat. But remember that HOW you eat can also affect your reflux. It’s suggested that people with GERD drink plenty of water… eat slower… avoid late-night snacks… and don’t lie down immediately after large meals.
