Lycopene
By Better Health Research Team • Feb 25th, 2010 • Category: Fast FactThe nutrient lycopene can help protect you from ultraviolet (UV) rays, certain types of cancers, adult macular degeneration and heart disease. Plus, it may help lower your cholesterol levels and neutralize free radical damage. Lycopene can be found in tomatoes and tomato products, grapefruits, watermelons, guavas and apricots. Tomatoes contain the highest concentration of lycopene, and these “superfruits” also provide high amounts of vitamin C, fiber and potassium.
