When you are overwhelmed with stress it can affect not only your mental well-being, but your physical health, too. It can increase your risk for heart disease, circulatory problems, stroke, diabetes and more.

In order to get your feelings of depression and anxiety under control, try these tips:

  • Get a massage: This can help release tense muscles that have contracted all during the day. If you want to save some money, invest in a battery-operated device to use on your shoulders or back. 
  • Drink hot water with lemon: During the day, your body builds up toxins that need to be flushed out. The alkalinity of the lemons can help with this, plus the soothing aroma may help boost your mood.
  • Meditation: This ancient mental discipline involves seeking a calm, quiet location for a time period of deep thinking. This may help shed some the stresses of the day.
